Dr. Tracy

Karen Tracy came to visit advanced graphic arts processes GRT 462 last tuesday. We spent the time discussing the work experience we students have had in the graphics field. Specificially we (students) discussed our current jobs, and the kind of work we saw on a day to day basis. Students described working in digital prepress, offset printing, video production, graphic design, web design/web graphics, repro-graphics, and sign shop environments.

Some names of companies that students worked for were: ESPN, Hitchcock printers, Quality Name Plate, Office Depot, and more.

Welcome to the unofficial blog of the Graphic Arts Technology program at Central Connecticut State University.

My name is Rob Waterman, and I'm a new student currently enrolled in the Graphic Arts Technology program.

As there is a lot of change going on in all areas of the department, the direction of this blog will most definetly be changing in the coming months. I'll be posting my observations of the department as I make my way through the following courses: Graphic Design and Color, Screenprinting, and Advanced Graphics

In keeping with the free form nature of things, I'm going to switch gears from the intro duction to draw your attention to the orange doodle which has developed into an idea. I propose that we change the official abbreviation of the department from GRT to GAT. From what i've observed in the past month, the program has been turned inside out, and all areas have been affected, the courses, curriculum, faculty, and equipment, just to name a few. Why not share this change with the rest of the community at CCSU? We have been giving a great opportunity to shape this department from the ground up, and I'd like others to know what we're up to.

I'm no marketing student, but i like the idea of having a common flag to rally around.

I really value a close community, and by creating this blog, and working with other students, I'd like to have a program that every single on of us can call our own, and be proud to say we are a part of.

Thanks for checking us out!

please make sure you check out the student maintained WIKI for lots more information about GAT.
